Process and design optimization
InsPyro, a spin-off of the KU Leuven, improves processes and designs using research-based simulation and characterization tools.
Our team of experienced engineers are specialized in process and flowsheet modelling, flow and heat transfer modelling, inorganic chemistry, and materials science. Combining these competences allows us to tackle diverse problems ranging from metallurgical, chemical, and food processes to materials selection and component design.
Metallurgy and materials
InsPyro can be your partner as a metallurgy consultant. We provide optimisation solutions based on thermodynamic calculations, experimental set-ups and analysing techniques. In many cases, we function as an external R&D support your own researchers with our metallurgical tools such as flowsheet models or phase equilibria, and CFD. We can organise custom made courses on different topics in material science and thermodynamics, and provide you with educational tools for working with phase diagrams.
Detailed flow and heat transfer simulation
With CFD, flow behaviour, heat transfer, mixing, and many more phenomena can be studied in detail. The impact on the stress in the construction can be derived using coupled FEM (finite elements).

- dust separation and smoke behaviour (off-gas systems, environmental)

- design of components such as burners, ducts, quenchers and nozzles
